The Senior Application Developer will be expected to perform any/all of the following roles and responsibilities: The ability to communicate Business and IT solutions independently as well as in an Agile team structure. Strong aptitude to learn about new business operations, terminology and strategy. Strong aptitude to learn about new technologies and how they apply to DIA’s Business and Architecture Frameworks. Self-driven, willing to take initiative when an opportunity presents itself. Contributes ‘Out of the Box’ thinking through Business Analysis and IT Solutions A strong discipline and fundamental understanding of how to follow established policy and procedures. The ability to take ownership and lead in some cases, IT implementations from start to finish. Provide solutions and support for organizationally critical applications that require extensive knowledge of DIA’s business processes and capabilities. Develop and leverage automation tools to provide a quicker time to deployment for delivery of project solutions.
In addition, apply concepts, develop, test, maintain, and support high-performance, innovative software and web-based applications. Troubleshoot software and web problems and provide solutions to overcome these problems using the latest technologies. Work with leadership and information technologists to determine specifications. Use a variety of internet technologies, techniques and tools such as graphics software applications and object-oriented languages (e.g. Java, CGI, Visual Basic, HTML, XML) to create software and web application elements such as user interface features, algorithms, animation, special effects, databases, and e-business applications.
